Danielle Berger grew up in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Brown University.

In 1993, she co-founded a non-profit arts education center, igniting an enduring passion for public engagement and social impact endeavor. She spent two years in Kona, Hawaii managing an ocean-front bed and breakfast before moving to New York City in 1997, with a dream to make great television.

At HBO Creative Services she was immersed in a creative environment that dominated the cable-television market where she worked on distinctive marketing and branding campaigns across rapidly scaling platforms and outlets.

Expanding into longform production in 2001, she leveraged this foundation for projects across a range of industry leaders, audiences and formats. Increasingly focused on non-fiction series and specials, her work received its first Peabody Award at MTV News and Docs in 2003, and she continued to hone award-winning skill as an independent video producer for nearly a decade.

Seven years at CNN Heroes provided an opportunity to explore the power of media to raise a pro-social brand, grow an audience and better the planet. As a member of the founding team, she played an integral role in developing the campaign franchise, from the pitching, vetting and research process, to the production and management of the video profiles, articles, promotional materials & social media, as well as the feature specials & annual star-studded, live awards show.

Most recently, she helmed production for Break Thru Films’ streaming docu-series “The Fashion Fund,” Season 3 — with Amazon Video, Condé Nast Entertainment (CNE), Vogue and The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

The competition series represents a pioneering effort at an integrated e-commerce experience by which Amazon drives merchandise sales with a dedicated retail section where customers can shop a selection of the spring 2016 collections of the series’ finalists.
